arlon-io.slack.com doesn't allow external users

I tried to join the Arlon slack using my personal gmail, and got this error: "bcle00@gmail.com doesn’t have an account on this workspace."

@cruizen or somebody from the Platform9 team: could you please investigate how this Slack is administered, and find out how to either:

1. Open it up to community users
2. Or transfer ownership

For (2) @mpetason suggested this possible solution:

I think the easiest way to do it would be to get sue to add you to the [Arlon@platform9.com](mailto:Arlon@platform9.com) alias with your personal account, or ask Madhura or someone internal to make the request.
Sue updates it, you try to login with the arlon user, change the password, and then you're admin
but there's still visibility to other people at PF9 so it's not like you just took everything over.

I tried to join it as well using my personal email, and that works for me. I chose "Sign in with Google". Can you try and see if that works?

I had a similar experience as @bcle - I can't sign up using my email ID that is not a somebody@platform9.com email address
And if I use the option "sign in with Google", it denies saying the email ID / account must match platform9 as shown in the following image

@mpetason can you help here since you are an administrator for https://arlon-io.slack.com/ ?

I believe I gave ownership to a few (I don't have access anymore it was tied to my pf9 account) and the owner is arlon@platform9.com (grouplist). It may require someone else with admin access, or someone may need to be added to the arlon group list, then attempt to login with arlon@platform9.com and change the admin password.

I can't access https://arlon-io.slack.com/account/workspace-settings#admins for the same reason. So I don't think I am admin, (perhaps I was with the old leb@platform9.com email?)

@cruizen do you seen any other admins in the list that are not @mpetason and myself?

@cruizen I don't know if Mike's suggestion of adding my personal email to the arlon@platform9.com alias will work. Would you mind working with Sue and Madhura to see if you can make yourself admin first. This would then unblock other things and get the ball rolling. In case this wasn't clear, neither Mike nor I have access to our platform9 emails anymore.

Did you get an invitation to join the space? Else, you can try to sign up again from the sign-up link. It will now allow other email IDs but will require confirmation / approval from admins of the workspace.

Testing it using another external account with email tchiule@yahoo.com. But if I follow the Don't Have an Account -> Create Account path, since I don't have a @platform9.com account, I am told:

Don’t have an @platform9.com email address?
Contact the workspace administrator at Arlon for an invitation.

How does a user contact the administrator? Still a lot of friction.
