Possible to add git history for monochrome?

This is a placeholder issue for me to see if adding the git history for monochrome is possible (and worthwhile).

This project originally started from monochrome, but was changed substantially before the first commit. I was thinking it would be nice to give credit to the monochrome project by including that history before the changes, but at this point it may not be worthwhile (or possible) but I wanted to give it a try and see what happened.

@jenlampton , I would be happy to do that, if I even knew how at this point. The problem is that I began working on this theme by making incremental changes to the monochrome theme over a period of about a year... long before I ever even knew what github was. I just hacked away...

I could try, however, to find my earliest version of this theme, and then drop it into a Monochrome repository in order to discover the earliest diff possible, and go from there. Is this what you have in mind? This is my best guess at what you might mean by "adding the git history for monochrome." Am I even on the right track?
