snapclient not working together with peppyalsa, what would that be about?

Hi all! I'm not sure if I should report this as a bug yet. After some testing with different software playing audio directly through ALSA, I have to conclude that the only one that doesn't work with https://github.com/project-owner/peppyalsa (an ALSA plugin for providing data that can then be used with VU meters and spectrum analysers, either software- or hardware-based) is, unfortunately, snapclient. The author of Peppyalsa also don't see anything they can do about it on their side. For more details see project-owner/peppyalsa#3.

Where should I take this? Is this possibly a bug?

The screenshot of your Snapclient log shows that there is now audio received and thus no audio is played:

[Notice] (Alsa) No chunk received for 5000ms. Closing ALSA.

True, it seems my screenshot timeout setting was off when I took the screenshot, and it was taken before I was able to start playback. My bad!

Here is another one where audio has already been playing for a while:

Behind the "L:" and "R:" in the two bottom-most lines there should be a bunch of equal signs (ASCII-based VU-meter).

Indeed! When I stop snapclient and start it while snapserver is sending data, it's working!
