get group description (aka topic)

I see from the signal-cli documentation that it's possible to set a group description, and I can set the group description with a PUT to the v1/groups// endpoint, but how do I read the group description?

It looks like there are udpates sent when the description is changed, but when using an android client I can read the group description without getting updates (I can even see it before joining if joining via a link).

How can I get the group description text from the API without waiting around until someone updates the group?
