QR from synology not recognised

I am looking at migrating to Aegis and the QR code to setup the OTP from Synology is not recognised by Aegis.

This sounds like Synology is still showing a QR code with a link to download a 2FA app, instead of the actual TOTP QR code. See: #1106 (comment).
