BTT Octopus V1.1 with TMC2209 and Marlin 2.1.2.x: Bad response! Error: All LOW

I recently replaced my BTT skr1.4 turbo with a BTT Octopus V1.1 and havent got it to work again :(
I'm using Marlin 2.1.2.4 and earlier 2.1.2.3 and I can't fix the error I keep getting when I start the printer it tels me "All low" and an M122 shows me:

Driver registers:
        X    0x00:00:00:00     Bad response!
        Y    0x00:00:00:00     Bad response!
        Z    0x00:00:00:00     Bad response!
        E    0x00:00:00:00     Bad response!
Testing X connection... Error: All LOW
Testing Y connection... Error: All LOW
Testing Z connection... Error: All LOW
Testing E connection... Error: All LOW
//action:notification TMC CONNECTION ERROR

I've found several posts about this, mainly for other BTT boards but I can't find a solution that works for me.
