ContactsStorageException because of apostrophe in address book name #1317

Which device / Android firmware / version do you have? Apostrophes shouldn't be a problem, but some devices have problems. (This is why the DAVx5 account setup recommends not to use apostrophes in account names. But in your case, it's not the DAVx5 account name that makes problems, but the address book account name, which you can't influence if I understand it correctly.)
Can you please share the debug info to https://www.davx5.com/support, mentioning this issue? So that we know which devices have problems and which problems.
No.
No. Android doesn't know the concept "address books" (only contacts), so we have to map CardDAV address books to address book accounts.
Unfortunately, not manually. Can you rename it on vivaldi.net? However DAVx5 shouldn't use special characters (and especially apostrophes) in auto-generated account names. We will track this in an issue. |

I can't sync my vivaldi.net address book to my mobile phone, because the backend crashes due to an apostrophe in Davx5's auto-generated address book account name.
Details: When I add my vivaldi.net account to Davx5, it always creates an account with both a CalDav and CardDav service because of the service discovery on the server. My vivaldi.net address book is called "joshua's addressbook". Thus, Davx5 creates a calendar account using my mail address as the account name and a separate addressbook account with an auto-generated name like "joshua's addressbook (mail address) #1". When trying to sync this account, the backend crashes with a ContactsStorageException, presumably due to the apostrophe in the account name. I thus have the following questions:
