Opentasks not working on Android 5.1

Hi,
I have Opentasks and Davx5 working OK on Android 10 (lineageos).
However, on an Android 5.1 (cyanogenmod) it throws security exceptions on syncing:

org.dmfs.permission.READ_TASKS or
org.dmfs.permission.WRITE_TASKS

is there anything I can do to fix this?

Does it work when you (uninstall both, then) install OpenTasks and after then install DAVx5?

Unfortunately that's required below Android 6 because of the Android permission system.
