Frigate+ Suggestions Not Working on All Images When Adding New Labels

Finally bit the bullet to add cars to my model. My front camera has anywhere from 10 to 20 cars in view at any one time so it is no small effort to tag them all in ~2,500 images. In that respect, the suggestions feature in Frigate+ is a game changer. It is very accurate and only misses a few cars (mostly ones with car covers or partially obscured).

However, of the 2,500 images I have uploaded for this front camera, only about 1/3rd had suggestions added to it for the new labels. I've gone through and verified all of those but that leaves over a thousand where I would have to manually tag 10-20 cars in each image. I'll be a really old man by the time I finish that. I cannot see any difference in the images that got suggestions for the new labels and ones that didn't.

Is there any way to add suggestions to these images where they are missing? Why does it only add suggestions to certain images when adding new labels and not all of them?

Thank you. I also noticed that amongst a few of those 1,500 or so images where no car suggestions were made despite there being numerous detectable cars in conditions and positions that it easily detected them before, it did process suggestions for some of the other new labels I added like license plate and motorcycle.

Oh, when you add a new label, it only processes those new labels. So to get it to label the cars you will need to remove and then re-add car (assuming you had car enabled the whole time and just wasn't labeling it)

No. I only just added the car label. I also just added motorcycle and license plate which is why I found it odd that on at least a few of the older images, it provided suggestions for motorcycle and license plate but not any of the cars. As an example, an older image where it suggested a motorcycle but not any cars.

In other images, the suggestions feature will easily tag almost all of those cars, but in this one it did none.

I guess what makes this a little important for me is that if you add a new tag like say raccoon, it would take a fair bit of effort to go through every single old image looking for raccoons whereas the suggestion feature could at least find some or most of them.

But if the suggestion feature only processes some tags for some of old images, it becomes a lot less useful.

I am also wondering if I should just purge a lot of my older images but I also don't see an easy way to do that either.

FWIW, another random thought I had while tagging lots of cars is that it would be super helpful to see all the tags you have in your model. Kind of like the like the magnifying glass page in Frigate (image below). The repetitive nature of tagging and labeling makes it easy for me to make a mistake or miss something and there's no easy way to see what has been tagged or your recently verified images.

It should suggest cars on every image for the camera you added a car label to. However, if any of those images already had car listed as verified, then it would assume a human already reviewed the image for cars and skip suggestions. So if at one point you were clicking "Verify & Save" on images and just ignoring cars even though they were listed for the camera, that would create a problem.
