I have an unused Galaxy Note 8 256GB that has broken screen, rooted and got LinuxDeploy with Ubuntu 24.04 Distro.
Manually compiling with npm was not easy, but doable, I git cloned the latest pigallery2 source and downgrade Node.js to v18.16.0.
Everything works perfectly, startup time is around 30-45sec, indexing a mixed 20GB folders of video and pictures takes only 20 minutes, the UI is very responsive:
