Hi @chefsale, can we leave this open as a tracking issue for the mature form of this implementation?

Right now what we have is built specifically to accomodate application blobs, but all of what's mentioned in this issue requires exposure to the runtime, which has not yet been implemented.

Can we split this into seperate more specific issues or rename this one - main problem here is BlobAPI doesnt say much what needs to be done. Maybe if we taskify it, it could either become a bounty or somebody can just pick it up with some context. 🙃
