On IBM's old website for Carbon, a beautiful animation and accompanying description of a loading animation that harps back to the days that applications and data were loaded from tape reels was presented.

It would be nice if this animation was provided as part of the icons-motion repository.

That one is in IBM's core carbon library, you import it as the InlineLoading component, rather than an icon.
