I use on-device blocklists to minimize cellular traffic, so smart dns seems a good option for upstream. |

At the same time, for users who are less careful about safety, I wouldn't use it - use on-device combined with nextdns upstream with all its smart features |

Upside of DNS that apply filters is all that blocking done on DNS level. Removing the burden of downloading, updating and parsing filters from user side. Downside of that, it will take times from realizing it caused by DNS filter, finding & fix if there's filter that block our target address. Let assume all user don't use Premium DNS where they presented with Control Panel where they can exclude/include 1 line of filter. Now add local filters to that jungle. That could add more issue probabilities in future. Well, just my thought. I couldn't explain it any better. Back to subject. I still can think any use case of Smart DNS who use random filtered and non filtered DNSes. With current implementation, it will be; sometime it block Adult addresses, sometime it won't. Sometime it's using security filter (like Cloudflare Security DNS or Cleanbrowsing DNS) sometime it won't (Cloudflare DNS normal and Google also in the list). |

I'm wondering;
Probably better to use Non Filtering DNS? So we can use our own filters (on Device blocklists).
