Just because it came up and I used it to play a bit with AI - the E-mu Proteus Rompler series.
There are two main series - the original Proteus and then everything that came after the Proteus 2000.

Generally, these devices seem to be very close to each other and mainly the number of banks etc. is different. What I don't grasp from the documentation is how compatible these are, given that "patches" depend on the ROM content, it probably doesn't make sense to send patches from a Proteus 3 to a Proteus 2, but what do I know.
