cjio is definitely not forgotten, although it did not receive much attention in the past year(s). We still have plans on fixing current issue, refactoring some parts and maybe extend or change other parts. However, when will this happen, that is a bit of an open question. As far as I know @GinaStavropoulou is working on it currently, and maybe @hugoledoux can tell more.
