First impressions matter!

We need bullet-proof installation instructions for getting started on any major development platform (ie: Windows, Mac, Linux).

The instructions should be:

  • Engaging - The installation process should be as painless as possible. The adjective we should strive for is "fun".
  • Comprehensive - No corners cut here. Screenshots, exact commands to type, in-line troubleshooting tips, etc. Our "conversion rate" for new installs should be 100%.
  • Explanatory - What are you installing on my machine? Why? How will this be used? No black boxes; just thorough explanations of what is happening and why.

This is such a critical piece for a new CLJS dev interested in getting his toes wet. First impressions matter!

Seems like this will be composed of:

  • Installation instructions
  • Compiling first project
  • Where from here? (links to other things)

Some getting-started references:

@NPrescott this is a good reference for getting started. @oakmac @shaunlebron add additional getting started ideas as necessary.
