When we include Lunch in the schedule, there should be location info to help users find their way there.

The _data/schedule.yml data needs location properties and then use that property somewhere in _includes/presentation_timeline.html. Useful for Reception and many other events as well.

Or like in _data/conf.yml would a desc field be of wider possibility?

It would be more challenging, but maybe there's a reason to lift out venues to be their own conf file? I'm not sure quite how it would happen, but could then references be put into the templates that allow the site to shorthand events by adding the venue and then (hands are waving here) the output website allows [prospective] attendees to hop quickly from an schedule entry or event description to a venue canonical page, which in turn lists the conference things happening at that venue?

(I'm actually in favor of the incremental change, but also wondering when we've made enough incremental changes to venue issues that we need to take a look at the venue model.)

We do have a Location function (in /_data/locations.yml) and I've put things in there, but I'm not sure they are actually being used. I was mostly thinking that I wanted to be able to add a location: X attribute to any item in the schedule and have that trigger a display in the schedule (with a link to Google Maps for navigation).
