MCP: Show how to integrate with Claude Desktop and friends

To help our users to get started with MCP, it will be valuable to show how to integrate the MCP examples with Claude Desktop.

Thanks. Are there other valuable clients from other vendors already that talk MCP, or is the gravity clearly on Anthropic's Claude, because MCP was invented for it?

I am just asking for a quick landscape analysis here, because doing sweeping improvements is the most efficient way. In this case, we could possibly bundle multiple clients, when applicable.

I picked Claude as it is probably the most used one with MCP at the moment.

I had already picked up signals about Cursor when exploring the landscape the other day, didn't know about Windsurf before, and also don't know about relevant capabilities of VSCode, while not using any of them yet. We may want to shed lights on them while we go.

a) Because I do not use Claude yet, I can't verify it. Do you think this is sufficient to provide proper guidance to the average user, or do you think we need to do it better?

b) I will be happy to stage cratedb-mcp prominently on this page as well. @surister: Just let me know when you consider it ready.

ad a) Let's leave it as it is for now. We can expand it as we have used MCP with Claude in various use cases

I have tested the configuration with Claude, and Claude was able to respond to my prompts about a simple database.

Moreover, I have opened crate/cratedb-mcp#4 with a simple configuration for Claude.
