Description

Summary

To improve the portability and the range of compatible devices, support for Red Hat-based Linux distributions (e.g. RHEL, CentOS, Fedora) needs to be added. Currently, the setup scripts and dependency instructions are tailored towards Debian-based systems, which may cause issues or require manual intervention on Arch systems.

Task Details

  • Add Red Hat-based system detection to setup.sh and support dnf or yum for package installation.
  • Map required packages to their Red Hat (RPM) equivalents where names differ from Debian packages.
  • Handle system-specific differences in the install logic.
  • Update documentation with Red Hat-specific setup instructions.
  • Verify compatibility with the Liboqs/OQS-Provider build process.
  • Test installation on a clean Red Hat-based system
