Describe the bug

Yesterday (17/10/2025), the day-ahead prices were delayed and not yet available at 13:00. The integration tries to fetch them, but fails. For the rest of the day, the prices are unavailable. Only restarting HA or reloading the plugin resolve this.

Solution

Try refreshing the prices each hour after 13:00 until they are available.

After the Nordpool stopped to update I made an automation to reload the Nordpool integration at 14:01 (01 because a lot of things fill my logs at whole hours) It worked ok but it does not need to reload if the prices starts to update. So I talked a little bit with Grok and it modified my automation to only run if the Nordpool sensor does not reload the next days prices.

Thanks for the tip on auto-reloading! I ended up with a slightly different syntax, creating the automation from the UI:

However, a proper fix would probably need to be in python, either registering similar retries at fixed 14:00 and 15:00, or having an async try/catch and re-scheduling a retry automatically.

While at it, we should probably also randomize the exact time we pull the next prices, as to not hammer their API at exactly 13:00 (although I'm unsure what size hammer this project currently is 😉 )
