fix missing EOL markers #25
Description
currently, EOL marking is only working back to v0.8.0. This should be a relatively straightforward fix since all versions before that are EOL, but wanted to make an issue to ensure that this does in fact get fixed in the future. Merged tests should fail when this is fixed, so those tests will also need to be updated.
