How do I setup/configure access to Outlook Live email?

I attempted the instructions for oauth2 authentication, but found that path to be very complex and requiring an Azure account, Entra ID, etc. I found Microsoft to be too complex to maintain for someone who just wants to self-host and have access to multiple email accounts in a web interface. I did signup for Google, which was a lot easier, but still complex.

Is there an easier way?
