Enjoyed Spore, interesting to see a similar project. My experience with this game has been very positive.
The Farm map has a Quest that seems incapable of being completed (for me, apparently). The location is near the river, where a Pelican spawns, East of the Spider Cave. Not sure what it even is, I just see a quest marker and nothing there. Looking down, I can see a small dot that I believe is a highlight or outline of something related. This was remedied by turning NPCs off and back on again.
Found the Pallet (Raft) on the Island stays out to sea once it's used the first time.
Have some notes, thoughts and observations that may be helpful. If not, simply disregard them.
Notes:
Biggest thing is the game's name. When googling "Creature Creator", everything is spore-related. If this game grows, this can unintentionally make it difficult to find information on this game. Possibly consider renaming the game to something else, maybe going for "Monster" or "Lifeform" over Creature, and "Lab", "Builder" or "Construction" over Creator. Just ideas, there are probly better combinations. Could even call it something simple, like "Evo" or something.
I find I cannot apply textures or the metallic effect to all parts. If this is user error (probly is), it would be nice to see some kind of prompts or reminders as to the proper controls.
There are parts, like the Skull attachment that one would think you could attach eyes to, and rotate to fit properly. I'd suggest allowing parts like fins, eyes, spikes etc to attach to skulls, bones, and some other parts.
I find the creatures is a bit too stiff. Spore had a "wobble" of sorts to it's creatures.
I'd say maybe swap the "Budget" for parts to a different currency instead of $. Maybe DNA or EVO Points (Evolution Points).
The ? markers in caves show up when in range Vertically as well, causing confusion as to what level they are on. Maybe lower the detection for those items on that axis for caves, if that's even possible.
I find flight takes too much energy proportional to sprinting. Possibly make the takeoff flap take the default amount, but airborne ones take less. Maybe also allow the creature to glide if the jump button is held; gravity is lower with better/more wings.
I like how position of weapons matters, and weight needs to be taken into account, that way your budget isn't all that matters. I like how the "Good Boy" dogs will run and hide, so you need to figure out to use the bone from the cave to lure them. I also tried equipping a Bone to my Creature that didn't work. Would of been neat.
I've been enjoying this little game to relax with while listening to random nonsense on YouTube on the second monitor. I have done no Multiplayer stuff, as I'm a Hermit. But I'll try it, because I like the game and want it to grow. I'll update with any other issues I find.
