Edit: I found the fix. Control panel > System > Advanced system settings, Advanced tab, click the settings button in the performance section.

There, I turned off everything except show thumbnails instead of icons. I don't know specifically which one of those settings caused the problem, but it was one of them.

Previous post:

I've been using an old vista PC for about 15 years, and Dasher is nice and smooth as long as there isn't a lot of text ahead of where I'm writing in the editor (if there is it hangs slightly on each entered character, but it's not a problem since it's easily avoidable most of the time).

However, I got a new windows 10 PC and though everything else I run on the PC is much faster, Dasher's framerate is consistently choppy, which makes the program unpleasant to use and less responsive.

I've tried using an older version of Dasher, using compatibility modes, increasing the process priority (it's only using less than 1% of the cpu in the task manager) but there was no improvement.

Please help. I can't use dasher like this for writing anything long. My computer has an i7 8700, 16 GB of ram, a fast SSD and a Nvidia 1070. It's far more powerful than the other computer, so I don't understand what's going on.
