Shading table cells with picture

As stated in the documentation, powerpoint does not support inline images within a paragraph. However, the format allows using an image as the background (fill) of a table cell.

Would it be possible for fp_cell to support setting cell backgrounds to arbitrary images? If so, this could be a workaround for creating tables containing graphical objects.
