Availability of the complete drug–drug interaction catalog

I found this repository from the JBI 2015 paper which states:

The merged dataset^2,3, and code⁴ used to create it, is available for download for research purposes.

Unfortunately, the hyperlinks for footnotes 2 & 3 appear broken.

In short, I'm interested in using your integrated catalog of drug–drug interactions for my research. Are the datasets referred to by footnotes 2 & 3 available in this repository?

Also can you elaborate on the meaning of "for research purposes"? Can this data be reused under any of the Creative Commons licenses (which ones)?

• There are two versions of the data - one based on a conservative mapping from drugbank to RxNorm (exact string or inchi key) the other allowing for mappings on synonyms.

Btw, the first author on the JBI paper (Dr. Ayvaz) and myself are doing a complete update of the dataset and adding several new sources. Please watch forums.dikb.org for an announcement. We plan to release the update by the end of August.

We completed Hetionet v1.0 (available at https://neo4j.het.io). But potentially we can include your data in future iterations of our integrative networks.

The license is Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.

One issue is that we're adopting a policy of only including resources with open licenses, after our past experiences with the legal difficulties of data integration. Presently, the NC stipulation disqualifies your resource from being integrated into an open resource. I'm not sure if this is something that could be changed, but if so that would be great for reuse!

Ok. Thank you for the feedback. I will consider relaxing the license to allow commercial use. The fundamental issue for me is seeking to maintain these resources in the long term. I have three projects that bring together large pharmacology oriented datasets, this one, LinkedSPLs (https://dbmi-icode-01.dbmi.pitt.edu/linkedSPLs/), and LAERTES (https://jbiomedsem.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13326-017-0115-3). All of the require allot of effort to build and maintain and none of them have a long-term sustainable stream of funding at the present time. We did contribute a high quality and fully open DDI dataset to Wikidata:http://www.jmir.org/2015/5/e110/
