I am currently packaging a tool that depends on textract for Kali Linux in order for both packages to be added to Kali repositories (and hopefully to Debian later (specifically, textract)).
However, during the packaging process, I noticed that the documentation specifies that pstotext is a required package. This package is no longer on the face of the earth, and the only OS (from my basic investigation) that has it is Ubuntu.
Hi there,
I am currently packaging a tool that depends on
textract
for Kali Linux in order for both packages to be added to Kali repositories (and hopefully to Debian later (specifically, textract
)).However, during the packaging process, I noticed that the documentation specifies that
pstotext
is a required package. This package is no longer on the face of the earth, and the only OS (from my basic investigation) that has it is Ubuntu.Debian has since then removed
pstotext
from both thetesting
andunstable
branches: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/pstotextAs a result, is there any chance of replacing
pstotext
with a more modern and publicly available alternative? Thanks in advance.
