Description
Week 10 Stand-Up Session
5 Oct 2016
What Has Happened
Paper Prototype and Low Fidelity Digital Prototype
A paper prototype was created by each team member and tested by one user. Each prototype had a similar design but with slight differences in features and interface layout.
Good points to collect together:
- search bar
- percentage success rate
- Filters
- Popular
- Expires Soon
- New
- Everything
- Categories
- Food
- Fashion
- Entertainment
- Travel
- Health and Fitness
Bad
- the star rating success rate for discount
Didn't really add much value in the information provided - full profile
- Didn't need that much information about different users
- would rather just a simple rating next to the avatar of the user to distinguish reliability
things to consider
- multiple discounts at the same location
- solution: popup has a scrollable list of all the discounts at that location
- categories
- distinguish by:
- colours
- icons on location marker
- how to filter:
- sidebar for categories instead of nav bar
- more room for looking for deals
- phone screen is small, too cluttered
- sidebar for categories instead of nav bar
- distinguish by:
collecting information about physical discounts (not just online) for the local area
information collected through:
- flyers
- word of mouth
- social media pages of those businesses
Creation of High Fidelity Digital Prototype
The team created an improved paper prototype based on the feedback collected from the user testing session. We then created a high fidelity digital prototype on JustinMind.
What Will Happen
Our next steps are to:
- Test the high fidelity digital prototype
- Iterate on design based on feedback from user(s)
- Begin designing for promotional material
What is Preventing Progress
- The mid-semester break prevented progress slightly, however, the team did meet up during the holiday break to combine ideas for the high fidelity digital prototype
