In the past six months, I have also been following the developments of v3 and wanted to give it a try, but I haven’t been able to find a comprehensive installation tutorial. To be honest, as someone working in the materials field, dealing with various dependency packages and version compatibility poses a significant challenge.
For example:
(1) When using the offline installation package, does it create a new environment in conda, or do I need to set up a new environment myself?
(2) What are the Python version requirements for v3?
(3) If installing directly from conda, specifying the version number, GPU or CPU, and LAMMPS—this was the approach in version 2.0, and it worked very well. However, when trying to install v3, I found myself fail to proceed, even after adding -c conda-forge at the end.
So, I was wondering if you could provide a well-rounded guide similar to the "Easy Install" instructions on the official website when it’s convenient for you. Thank you!
