compiling against stable google benchmark version

Current master branch of Google benchmark lib is broken, you might consider updating READMEs to suggest compiling against stable versions of the library, as well as updating the scripts in tools/ to clone a tagged version of the repo.

Sorry, I missed that. Is the Google benchmark library still broken?
I mean I can point people to some released branch, but then I will certainly forget to update it in the future.
I think people will figure out a way to work around issues in the gbench master branch.
What do you think?

I think that the entire process of downloading/building Google Benchmark can be automated by using CMake code like this:
