• Default to h and Fragment for JSX under CLI (Proposal: [breaking-change] Default to h and Fragment for JSX #11186)
  • General discussion about the problem space.
  • Discussion how almost every other JSX library h() versues React.createElement().
  • Discussion how every pre-configured situation is ugly and how the pragma leaves it up to the user.
  • ACTION Consider no JSX configuration by default and help the transistion with linting rules.
• Plugins and FFI (Remove unstable native plugins #10908 and feat: ffi to replace plugins #11152)
  • Existing plugins subvert the Deno secuirty module (therefore require --allow-plugin)
  • The plugin API is poor and not well supported in the community.
  • There is demand for a plugin interface in the community.
  • There are lots of issues with async code with the existing plugin interface and basically there are more problems then good solutions.
  • @eliassjogreen has proposed a new plugin API that is basically FFI support, sync only. @ry discussed briefly with @eliassjogreen and if it is enough to migrate the webview stuff to this, and @eliassjogreen feels it is sufficient.
  • @piscisaureus feels that this could be built on in the future, which is great.
  • @ry wants to make sure we encourage people to use Web Assembly over plugins and having a plugin interface gives people an excuse to not prefer web assembly.
  • @piscisaureus reminds everyone that there are just some problems you can't solve with Web Assembly, and so plugins are an eventuality.
  • ACTION Plugins to be removed and FFI support to be landed.
• Lock files by default? (--lock-write should lock-check pre-existing deps by default #7237)
  • General positive feelings about it, but implementation likely to be complex.
