podman and difficult devcontainers use problems.

Environment: devcontainers 0.80.1

I tried to build a "pure" podman environment, no docker socket or podman desktop. The command to rebuild the container in Cursor with the Cursor Dev Container extensions (which, I think calls devcontainer commands), still tries to execute docker commands - extension version 1.0.24.

What have we done wrong or is this still a work in progress?

Thank you for reporting this issue. From the description it appears a specific issue with cursor. I could see that cursor already has an issue open, complaining that cursor doesn't work with dev containers. Would you check there once?
Otherwise if you see it being a specific issue with dev containers, would it be possible for you to provide dev container startup log for this? That could help us a great deal to investigate this further.
