I've been translating Open Video Editor to french, thanks for setting it up on Weblate !
And i've noticed that you set up the app's name on Fdroid for translation.
This is an interesting situation because it would indeed help make it discoverable, but would also make it hard for it to build an identity, if you want a community to gather and build around this project.
For example, having the name translated would make the app probably quite easy to find, but the project in itself would be lost in hundreds of other search results.
These are my two cents but i bet some other open-source community members might want to add their input as well.
What do you think ? Shall we translate the.name of this app ? Should we keep it in english ? Should we find it a unique name ?

having a name that is unique means it can be trademarked. i suggest looking up any name and seeing how much search results compete with it. use latin if you want to be fancy idk.
ah i didn't think of that either, the name could be trademarked by someone else after we choose it.
best way to go if we do it would be to explicutely imply the open/libre nature of this app in its name so it can't be trademarked.
