Easily placing links and placing links in line with each other

This is a very Bailey-skill-level request and I don't know if it's possible, but I would really like to be able to move links to the exact place it want it to go without having to click a bunch of times before the link goes where I want it to.  

Along those same lines, I really like how in PowerPoint etc. it shows you if things are lined up or not...that would be nice in this application.
