Timeout on PixPlot creation

This route (used in the frontend) tends to timeout before a PixPlot is completed.

The problem seems to have started when switching from Apache to Nginx (or at least I noticed it afterwards), but really it ought to be handled differently anyway. Ideally, the check should be another route that is called via jquery or ajax or something.
