Heatmap with added timeline slider

Hi,

Great library!

Do you plan to add a timeline slider to heatmaps (so users can explore trends over a period of time in addition to zooming in and out), or do you see that as a developer exercise and, if so, do you have any pointers?

Yeah I think this is outside the scope of this library, since it's really a matter of managing the data you're sending into the map as opposed to anything in the map itself.

I think you would want to design this with a timestamp property on each Feature in your dataset, and then controls somewhere to set the interval that you're filtering on. From there you can set the filter prop on the HeatmapLayer to alter which Features it includes.

It would look something like this example from regular Maplibre, but you'll set the filter prop on the HeatmapLayer instead of calling map.setFilter at the end. You'll also find the filter reference useful here.
