Hey! We're looking forward to kick off the project. In advance we have a some questions about implementation details as follows:

General

Add staff to Github repository

• Could you please @maxnoelp2 to the repository so that he get push permissions?

Specification

• We would like to use Github SpecKit to setup requirements, specs and then implement the content modules. I've already applied Speckit on another DjangoCMS project during the holidays - would you be open to give it a shot?

Technical django-cms-frontend

• We will use django-cms-frontend for implementing the content modules, I believe that's you preferred way of implementation?

Question 1: UI Overlays vs. Image Material

Question: Are the elements in the top left and bottom right (e.g., Stats / Filter) part of the image material or intended as separate UI overlays?

Question: At what screen size is it intended that the cards be displayed as a slider instead of side by side?

Question: Should we use the djangocms-form-builder here? And any data privacy checkboxes required?

Question: Should the images on the right be implemented as individual, separately positioned portraits or is it a fixed composite image?

Question: Should the video be played directly on the page or should it only link to a separate page or external platform?

Question: Will the content for News and Events be managed through a dedicated app / apphook?

Question 7: Timeline Library

Proposal: For the timeline, we propose using the Tailwind-based library Flowbite.

If you have no objections, we would implement it accordingly.

Question 8: News Card Interaction

Question: How is the interaction with the news cards intended – are they completely clickable or only specific areas? Where are photos and contact info managed / should that live in the user model?

Question 9: Navigation Configuration

Question:

• Should the additional links on the left and right in each dropdown be globally identical, or should they be individually configurable per top-level page (e.g., via a PageExtension)?
• Should the complete navigation be implemented as a CMS plugin, or is a solution hardcoded in the template intended?

Question 10: Font Licensing ⚠️ CRITICAL

Question: The design specifies the Aeonik font. Since this is a licensed font, I wanted to briefly ask whether a license is already available.

If yes, could you provide us with the webfont files?

@mj8arrett I believe you can best answer most of the design-based questions.

WRT SpecKit I have no preference (thanks to total ignorance) and am fine with trying it out. @mj8arrett Please veto if necessary.

• djangocms-frontend components are a must
• djangocms-form-builder is great
• djangocms-stories is to be used for news and blog
• Navigation might best be configured through aliases, I suggest - I prefer to have as little as possible custom code.
• (Flowbite is totally fine by me.)

Hi @surfgreendev welcome!

Question 1: UI Overlays vs. Image Material

If we were building this we would have two banner "Slots" that could contain either an image or our "Counter" plugin. So the UI screenshots would be images and the Stats would be in a dedicated plugin.

That makes the whole thing editorially controllable and means the counters can scale properly

There is an example of the counter plugin on this page:

It has fields for:

• Title
• Number
• Description

and counts up on first load.

Question 2: Responsive Card Layout

We would normally build card layouts to flex at the following Bootstrap breakpoints:

• 3 cards at L, XL & XXL
• 2 cards at MD
• 1 at S & XS

Automatically becomes a carousel when there are more cards to show than a single row.

Question 4: Portrait Images

Those can be a single composite image.

Question 5: Video Integration

The image should be clickable and the video launch in a modal.

Question 7: Timeline Library

I don't have any strong feelings about the technology if it supports the designs.

Question 8: News Card Interaction

We normally make the entire card clickable as it makes it easier for the user to link through and works better on touch screens. The author image should come from the User model so that changing authors, the image automatically pulls through to the cards.

Question 9: Navigation Configuration

As @fsbraun mentioned, we would manage this in an alias with three columns. The contents of the columns are then editorially controlled using the same plugins as on the rest of the site. We would have an Alias for each top-level tab.

The example has three columns:

Left:

• Text plugin
• Button plugin

Centre:

• Link list plugin

Right:

• Card plugin with text and button plugins inside

These could be in any order/combination.

Question 10: Font Licensing ⚠️ CRITICAL

@macolo Has the licence details for the fonts, we have purchased them.
