I can't access http://la.dronekit.io/

Please check the setup of the dronekit-la website or provided us with a proper link to the documentation.

@hamishwillee any idea what happened to la.dronekit.io?

@peterbarker I imagine it disappeared at the same time as python.dronekit.io. Needs to be regenerated in readthedocs or similar.

Let me know where do I need to point the domain, or if we need a server to host the docs @hamishwillee

@mrpollo I don't know because I never managed publishing these docs. I THINK we need to rebuild them and perhaps push them to gh-pages branch here.
That requires some setup and I am maxed out right now (and on other contracts)

@peterbarker In the meantime, can you point people to wayback? https://web.archive.org/web/20190217201544/http://la.dronekit.io/contributing/contribution_docs.html

html.zip

HTML zip attached (just built it, not fully checked). So if needed this can be hosted somewhere.

@mrpollo OK I shoved that build manually into the gh-pages branch under /docs, so it is now published at http://dronekit.io/dronekit-la/

I THINK that what you need to do is point to http://dronekit.io/dronekit-la/ - and then I can create a CNAME file pointing to la.dronekit.io and it should all just work.

Thanks a lot for working on this!

Quite a few links in the header of the documentation are outdated too. Maybe someone can take a look at this too. I'm not familiar enough with the project to propose any changes.

  • Have you created the pointer to new location?
  • The theme is indeed out of date. It is defined here https://github.com/dronekit/sphinx_3dr_theme but needs to be pushed to PiPi to be updated. But I am not inclined to touch it because I have no idea what the status of the other resources is. I "think" that only DK-Python is in any way "alive" right? If so we could delete the rest of the links

I'm out for a few days but when I come back I can update the theme, perhaps even change the name... once we get it building we can figure out DNS and perhaps fix the Python docs as well.

OK. FYI the Python docs are being built on readthedocs - @peterbarker sorted that I think.

Note that the docs build I did was manual. The "right" way to do this would be via github actions on change to sources. That isn't a priority for me on DroneKit stuff anymore.
