good clean code here; the function you built made the tidy process much more efficient

be sure to show the final product whenever you're asked to import/create/tidy a dataset, ie use head() or str()

i'm not sure you coded for motor voter status, an indicator for whether the voter registered via motor voter or the traditional method. this variable is necessary to answer the motivating question.
