Is Connection thread safe?
can it be used from multiple threads without lock?
My use case is an in-mem table in a web service that runs queries on the mem table

I don't think it is.

But, there's an implementation of a connection pool which uses the Arc under the hood in order to allow us to send data through threads, it's called r2d2.

The lib does not implement the connection, but rather manages the connection pool (so it works with traits, and leave the implementation details to each client).

There's a feature for that in the duckdb-rs crate.

As @mgrazianoc alluded to, Connection is NOT thread-safe and cannot be used from multiple threads without synchronization. See https://duckdb.org/docs/stable/connect/concurrency.html for more info. The recommended approach is to use a connection pool like DuckdbConnectionManager (enabled via the r2d2 feature).
