[Feature] Custom AWS tags for EKS Auto resources

What feature/behavior/change do you want?

To be able to apply user defined tags to AWS resources created by the auto mode cluster automatically; as described in AWS document here.

Why do you want this feature?

The permissions policy is given in the AWS document, can eksctl add a flag to add it to the eksctl create cluster IAM role?

Hi @tanvp112 , thanks for the feature request! This is a good callout.

The IAM policy for tags would actually make sense to enable by default for EKS Auto clusters created by eksctl. We could probably skip the new flag, and just go ahead and add these permissions to the IAM role that eksctl creates.
