Opencast endpoints to change event/series metadata/ACL fast

Basically: When changing metadata/ACLs in Opencast we don't want to wait for a workflow to finish for the changes to end up in Tobira.

Both, kind of. In theory this is just about making it faster, yes. But the status quo of it being very slow would have multiple unfortunate effects, all of which would make the implementation in Tobira a lot harder. Since we can expect at least like 20seconds or so (often longer) to pass for a metadata update, we can't just show a spinner next to the "save" button in Tobira. Instead we have to show a message explaining to the user that this might take a while. During that time we have to "lock" that event or series so that no user can edit its metadata again. We also then need to adjust the data synchronization between Opencast and Tobira such that Tobira knows when a metadata update has successfully propagated. For all of that the database in Tobira needs to be adjusted quite a bit, adding complexity at multiple places. And I'm probably still missing spots that this would make more complicated.

In the end, I'm very convinced that "properly fixing it", i.e. solving this issue as described, actually saves us time compared to not touching Opencast and just trying to deal with it on the Tobira side.

Looking at your explanation, I would say it is about "making it possible". No one wants to wait 20sec and longer for metadata to be changed...
