Welcome to the MoonGen wiki!
MoonGen is a fully scriptable high-speed packet generator build on DPDK and LuaJIT. It can saturate a 10 GbE connection with 64 byte packets on a single CPU core while executing user-provided Lua scripts for each packet. MoonGen utilizes features of (Intel) NICs that allow to measure latencies with sub-microsecond accuracy.
MoonGen has been developed by the networking groups of TU München (Network Architectures and Services) as part of the MEMPHIS Project in 2014.
