I had a similar idea just now. What if instead of trying to untangle the netcode, you just have a robo player who always occupies player 1, and goes through the courses/goals/15cs on rotation? Maybe vote for the next goal or features via the Tweaks overlay. Then the others could play, and you'd just wait for player 1 to DNF at the end. |

Would be neat if C2C could host in a dedicated server mode, where it would host a game with 0 slots taken up, and once enough players join it could start the game automatically.
With the new chat stuff it could even be player-managed too, eg. if only 2 people join and both type
/ready, game can start - or a vote for the mode to play could be kicked off with/rtvWould help with the port-forwarding issues lots of people have, and might lead to more games played since there would always be a server up.
On the technical side this is kind of pipe-dream territory though, I don't really have near enough of the C2C/Sumo network code mapped out to try setting this up ;_;
But who knows, maybe a C2C prototype with debug symbols (any platform) /
OR2PlusPC.pdbincluded will show up some day and reveal all the C2C side to us (fyi: lucknut.xbl(at)gmail.com 😇)Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
