Documentation page referers to latest tag and it is not recomended in #15382:
"If so, I would expect that the default etcd documentation does not prompt to use the latest tag (or state that this is not a good practice)."
"latest" tag can't be used Docker Image Format v1 and Docker Image manifest version 2

Discussed during sig-etcd triage meeting, thanks for raising this @DimShadoWWW I agree we certainly should fix this.
The supported pages we should fix that all reference :latest are:

We have an semi-automated process that updates other website pages with latest patch release tags so we can reuse that to update these pages also: https://github.com/etcd-io/website/blob/main/scripts/update_release_version.sh

Just to be clear, I think you can replace latest with {{< param git_version_tag >}}.
