Quick cut and paste creates duplicate string (the cut string remains where it was)

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/ (I assume this version is latest)
2. highlight string
3. ctrl/cmd+X - cut
4. as quickly as you can, paste to another line
5. reload browser, cut string remains where it was

Expected behavior
cut string is removed entirely

Well it's the question if this is an error or an expected error. Of course the change needs to be picked up by JavaScript, then transferred to the server, the change needs to then be approved and sent back to the user.
