Make PATHMASK agnostic to slash direction... #2

Currently, in this version of the code, slashes need to be backslashes in pathmasks to take effect. Likely, it's a 1:1 mapping. Investigate any benefit in making this ANY direction. E.g. we get forward slashes in DROID and so maybe there is benefit to this.
