Commands not working

None of the commands seem to do anything when I execute them via the command palette.

I have a workspace open which has a .git folder in the root workspace folder (although it's hidden in the explorer as per defaults).

I tried checking VSCode logs (via developer tools) for evidence of issues but couldn't find anything.

Any advice?

@chrisalbrecht are you on the latest version of the extension?

Can you share the repo where this doesn't seem to work, or at least can you find a public repo where it's also broken? I'd need to reproduce this.

I have this problem with all repositories I've tried. No logs, just a message, Command 'Open in GitHub: File' resulted in an error.

@fabiospampinato is it known that this extension does not seem to work on Linux? I am trying to debug this and it seems you use the "open" module which I would think should work. But still no browser opens for me.

In a sample extension this works for me though:

Also does not work for me on Linux. When I execute any Open in Github command via the command palette nothing happens.

@bpasero I'm not sure, but I remember people telling me about issues on Linux, I don't remember about which extensions though.

you use the "open" module which I would think should work. But still no browser opens for me.
In a sample extension this works for me though:

The most recent version of open is really opn.

I'll try to update open across all my extensions if that fixes the issue.

@chrisalbrecht is this still a problem? The app now uses vscode's APIs for opening urls.

I've been using this extension in Linux for many years now with multiple Linux Mint versions without any issues, but I've also started running into the same problem as in this issue since I've upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS like @docljn above.

I've rewritten the extension, can anybody still reproduce the issue in v2?

The extension seems to be opening URLs with a: vscode.env.openExternal ( vscode.Uri.parse ( url ) );, so presumably it's doing it's job correctly on this aspect? If anybody can reproduce the issue, does the Open In GitHub: Copy File Link command work for you?
