Blade drags and scores print during registration scanning

I'm using an aftermarket Graphtec-style blade on a Cameo 4. Even on lower depth settings (set manually on the blade) I've noticed that the cutter will scratch score lines across my print as its scanning the registration marks/repositioning the blade between cutting different paths.

Is it possible to have the blade lift (0 pressure) during these motions so that I'm marring the images I need cut out?
