I am applying the Allocator for the period of last year (52 weeks) to try and understand what is the optimal allocation going forward. One thing I notice is that there are certain channels (last one in the table), where I'm getting a fairly large response but no raw spend being allocated. This is due to the carryover effect being so large.
My question is around how this carryover effect works. Surely the mean carryover effect would be quite small over a large period of time as the carryover effect from previous spend will run out fairly quickly. Is the carryover effect taking this into account - i.e. that it will be large on the first few weeks or so, but for other weeks it will be less?
I would expect the carryover effect to be much less for these paid media.
